Worship Ministries

is a lay person licensed by the bishop to administer the consecrated elements of the eucharist. Assists the celebrant at any celebration of the eucharist in the absence of priests or deacons to serve.  May also be licensed to take the eucharist and share the sacrament with members of the congregation who were unable to be present at the celebration because of illness or infirmity.

is a lay person trained in reading scripture who is appointed by the clergy person in charge of the congregation to read lessons or lead the prayers of the people. There is no license required for this ministry.

is a volunteer group of the parish whose ministry is to care for the altar, vestments, vessels, and altar linens of the parish. Members prepare the sanctuary for services, and clean up afterwards.

a lay person who greets and assists people as they enter the church. Ushers hand out service bulletins and other materials, answer questions, count those present, collect and present the offering at the offertory, assist parishioners during the administration of communion, and clean the pews and church building after the service.

may serve as torchbearer, lighter of candles, crucifer, banner carrier, and assists at the preparation of the table.

is a volunteer group of parishioners whose responsibility is to prepare arrangements and plants for, and supervise, the decoration of the sanctuary of the parish with flora.

is a ministry at Resurrection responsible for relieving the rector of keeping up with Sunday morning details – making sure the lay volunteers are present, are where they need to be, and have what they need; answering questions about the upcoming service and events; supervising any special crews or equipment necessary, etc.
