The Rector has exclusive charge of all things affecting the spiritual interest of the parish, and is the chair of the Vestry and supervisor of all paid staff

Our Director of Music is responsible for selecting all music for worship and special services (in collaboration with the rector), for leading the choir in
congregational singing and choral anthems, for playing either the organ or piano during services, and for arranging guest musicians from time to time.

Jedediah Dahl is a native of East Tennessee who studied organ under John Brock, Professor of Organ at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, from his early teens into his early twenties. During that time, he also participated in a masterclass with Dame Gillian Weir, one of the foremost organists of the twentieth century. In 2001, he was accepted to the University of Tennessee as an organ performance major on scholarship. He later transitioned to studying history, specializing in early Christian history, and presented his first scholarly paper, an analysis of a Jewish diaspora community in ancient Rome, at the Virginia Tech Undergraduate Research Symposium in 2005.

Jedediah returned to active playing in 2025. His philosophy of music reaches back to the ancient Greeks, to Pythagoras and the conviction that the same ratios governing a vibrating string also order the heavens, the musica universalis, the music of the spheres. He understands a performance as a participation in that older order: sound as a structure that mirrors something cosmic, mathematical, and alive. Within that framework, he plays as a storyteller. Each piece is a chapter, sacred or secular, and his task is to disappear into it; to be the conduit for something greater than himself, and give it voice so others can feel it.

Our Parish Administrator serves as primary support for the rector and Vestry, and is responsible for producing all written and electronic communications for the parish, as well as fielding and appropriately directing all inquiries or requests for assistance from members of the parish or community.

Amy Lee, a Roane County native who lived in Nashville for about 20 years, is thrilled to have joined the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection as the Parish Administrator. Amy holds a B.S. in Communications (Journalism/PR) from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary. While pursuing a Doctorate in Ministry, she also teaches group fitness for a couple of local gym systems and holds a personal training certification. When she is not working, teaching, or studying, she enjoys reading, cross-stitching, diamond painting, beading, and spending time with her family and friends.
