Resurrection Family,
It seems like just a few years ago that I came to help Mother Claire Keene, working 10-15 hours a week, doing the bulletins and some light office work – how can it possibly be 17 years? In some ways I feel like I grew up here at Resurrection. Sadly, now I find that it’s time for me to leave.
I was approached with, and have accepted, an offer for a position in Knoxville. My heart breaks to leave you all, but this position fits my personal and professional needs so well that I had to say yes. Friday, February 21st will be my last day in the office.
I am incredibly grateful for each of you, and for the time we have spent together and the work we have done. I’m also thankful for and humbled by the gifts you have consistently given me over the years – your support and acceptance, your generous appreciation of the work I do, and especially your phenomenal care and love. Every member of my family has been touched by your care for us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Change can be sad and uncomfortable, but as the parish enters a season of beginnings, I have great faith in you. With solid leadership in your vestry and committees, with vision and enthusiasm in your membership, and enduring commitment to sharing the love of Christ with each other and the community, Resurrection will do what it does best: stay firmly rooted in faith and love while moving forward to grow, serve, and thrive.
I will spend the next four weeks doing everything I can to ensure the hand-off of my duties is as smooth as it can be. As always, my door will be open, so please feel welcome to come by for a little visit. My bowl of chocolate will be waiting.
