Throughout the 66 books, 1,189 chapters, and hundreds of thousands of words, the Bible shares one extraordinary message: God loves us!
The Church of the Resurrection is fortunate to have a small group of parishioners who meet weekly to discuss the Bible. And we’d love to have YOU join us.
As a general rule, the group studies one book in the fall/winter (Sep-Dec) and a second in the winter-spring (Jan-May). We break for the summer months. Attendance for each study (and each week) varies. We meet for one hour on Wednesday mornings, either in our Parish Hall or via Zoom, and our meeting time is determined by consensus of the group participants.
Course lengths vary by book length, but usually run 15-20 sessions, with a week off for Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
For each study, the objectives are:
- To provide you a firm foundation and understanding of each Bible book.
- To give you historical background, word definitions, and explanatory notes for each book.
- To help you grasp the message of the book as a whole.
- To teach you how to let God’s word transform you into Christ’s image.
- To acquire personal study skills that you can use to examine other books in the Bible.

Winter-Spring 2024
From tiny beginnings among Jesus’ disciples, the church exploded into a worldwide force in just a few years. How? Jesus left His followers with a mission, and the Spirit of God moved mightily through them to fulfill it. Luke’s account of how the gospel was carried from Jerusalem to Rome – despite every conceivable obstacle – assures us that God will also help us discover and live out our mission in the world.
