Vestry Roles and Contacts - Church of the Resurrection

The Vestry of is a dedicated team of nine members, chosen by our parish family and entrusted with the leadership and stewardship of our church. They work closely with the Rector, the Finance Committee, and the Parish Administrator to ensure the financial and operational well-being of Resurrection, which in turn supports and enables our worship and mission. Members serve staggered three-year terms, with one third of the Vestry being elected each December at our Annual Meeting.

To respond to some recent questions on vestry roles, we thought we would reiterate some changes in roles over the past year and note the current vestry structure and contacts. In 2022 and 2023, we made some changes in the overall structure of the vestry, with the most significant to redefine the role of the Junior Warden. We felt we needed an officer of the vestry to concentrate on “people," and we determined that officer to be the Junior Warden. Over time, the Junior Warden has taken on overall responsibility for Invite, Welcome, Connect, which has been identified as crucial to continuing the be a healthy parish and maintain our commitment to the community. Also, the Junior Warden provides the vestry liaisons and committees for Parish Life and Pastoral Care with help as needed and enable a better focus in our planning.

The current vestry structure and the vestry members responsible as liaisons to the parish groups are listed below.
