Companions

Companions provides opportunities for women for spiritual formation through reading and small-group discussion. In our group, we pick books or courses related to spiritual growth or disciplines that provide for in-depth study. We try to include a diversity of topics and viewpoints of not only Christian, but other religious disciplines.

For example, we recently read Ladder to the Light: An Indigenous Elder’s Meditations on Hope and Courage by Steven Charleston. Also, we have read and studied authors like Richard Rohr, a Franciscan priest and Mariann Edgar Budde, the Episcopal Bishop of Washington. Although we concentrate on spiritual development, we participate in lively group discussions and fellowship throughout the year!

Even if you have not been a part of Companions before or been in a group, you are invited to join us on Monday mornings at 10:30 a.m., beginning in the fall. Feel free to contact Bev Baumgardner if you have any questions about our group.
