The project to replace the church roof and re-work the siding on the steeple is now complete! We have a beautiful new roof on the church of dimensional shingles and new siding on the steeple that matches the detail on the side of the church. It took more time than we or the contractor anticipated because of the steepness of the roof and access to the steeple. Importantly, the work was completed safely and without incident. The area around the church has been cleared of machinery and debris, and the parking lots are now fully open.

There are a couple of items at least remain to be done that we talked about previously and were not part of the roofing work: The cross on the steeple is in dire straits. It is a simple, wooden cross and is not firmly attached to the steeple. We are in the process of having a new cross made and attached to the steeple. Also, we had some bad spots already on the driveway and parking area that needed work, and we are looking at having some of those areas re-graded and filled. Neither of these should affect access to the church or services.

We want to thank the vestry for their vision in supporting and approving the roof project, the finance committee for working to identify appropriate funding, to the building and grounds committee for their input and support and to our rector for enabling all of us to go forward. Also, we want to thank all of you for your support and patience during this last month.
